“But he’s already made it plain how to live, what to do, what God is looking for in men and women. It’s quite simple: Do what is fair and just to your neighbor, be compassionate and loyal in your love, and don’t take yourself too seriously—take God seriously.”
Micah 6:8 is a lovely verse to quote. It’s a challenging verse to live. (Am I right? ha!)
Seeking God’s justice, showing his mercy, and living openly and authentically is challenging not only to think about but then do.
Think of it this way:
Someone might be seeking justice for something you’ve done.
Someone might be trying to show you mercy, compassion, and kindness when you don’t deserve it.
Someone might be trying to be honest, open and authentic with you – humble and vulnerable – when all you want to do is hide.
There are two ways this verse is challenging; in the giving of justice, mercy and humility, and the receiving of those things too.
Whatever side of this verse you sit on today, (or perhaps through different situations, you sit on both), we pray that you don’t ignore what's going on in your life, pray your way into the heart of it.

Show God's love to those who’ve hurt you – receive God’s love even though you've hurt others.
Be humble in your righteousness – be humble when caught out or tripped up.
And through it all, walk with God. Stay in step with the Divine. March along to his eternal rhythm.
Colossians 3:11-15 in ‘The Passion Translation‘ says;
“For it is Christ that means everything as he lives in every one of us! You are always and dearly loved by God! So put on the garment of the virtues of God, since you have been divinely chosen to be holy. Be merciful as you endeavor to understand others, and be compassionate, showing kindness toward all. Be gentle and humble, unoffendable in your patience with others. Tolerate the weaknesses of those in the family of faith, forgiving one another in the same way you have been graciously forgiven by Jesus Christ. If you find fault with someone, release this same gift of forgiveness to them. For love is supreme and must flow through each of these virtues. Love becomes the mark of true maturity. Let your heart be always guided by the peace of the Anointed One, who called you to peace as part of his one body. And always be thankful, overflowing with gratitude for your life-union with Christ.”
