For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also. Matthew 6:21 (HSCB)
Who You Really Are – The Heart Of The Matter – Part 7
Where’s your heart at?
What do you value?
You might have to analyze your spending habits, the words you use, how you spend your time, what and who has your attention, to get a good idea of what your true treasures are.
What do you believe about your heart?
Can you follow it? Listen to it? Attend to it, love it, heal it?
The good news is, God sees through to your heart. Through all the pain that you feel and that you’ve caused, the anger and joy, the grief and the beauty, the work and the play and the confusion and the change: God sees you. Who you really are. And his grace seeks to remind you, whisper in your ear, shout it from the rooftops, who you really are: loved.
You were created from an origin of goodness and strength and grace and peace. And to that place, he’ll return you, for the rest of your life. There’s no condemnation or exploitation in the seeing. It’s more that God knows, and God loves, and God heals. We are graciously grander than we know.
Your heart is the heart of the matter. If only we all understood this, we just might be able to change the world.
“Courage, dear heart.” A CS Lewis wrote.
There is hope.
