“Who could ever separate us from the endless love of God?”

God loves us. This we know.

But just as God is not a man, or a person, or an actual physical entity (as much as we like to imagine him being), neither is love. God is love; love is God. We are never separated from love.

No matter who we are, whether we feel it or not, believe it or not, unconditional love is already ours.

This is not a wishy-washy, fluffy-happy moment. Love is a grounding, awakening force. When you know you are loved you have no reason to extract your worthiness through means of performance, domination, control, or winning. When you know that you are loved, you don’t have to prove yourself. You don't have to work for it or defend it.

You come from love, you’re made of love, and you were created to love.

“You come from love, you’re made of love, and you were created to love.

Powerful, two minute reads that have helped change the script in thousands of people's lives.

Paul said it like this:

Who could ever separate us from the endless love of God? Absolutely no one! For nothing in the universe has the power to diminish his love toward us. Troubles, pressures, and problems are unable to come between us and heaven’s love. What about persecutions, deprivations, dangers, and death threats? No, for they are all impotent to hinder omnipotent love…” Romans 8:35 (TPT).

And then like this:

…that you, being rooted and grounded in love, may have the strength to comprehend with all the saints what is the breadth and length and height and depth, and to know the love of Christ that surpasses knowledge, that you may be filled with all the fullness of God.” Eph 3:17-19 (ESV).

You cannot be separated from love.

And if we cannot be separated from love – if it is our grounding force; the solid foundation of our lives; our origin and our destination – then we have to ask the question: why do we allow ourselves to get so easily consumed with hate, greed, indifference, violence, entitlement, and more?

Perhaps because we don’t quite yet believe just how loved we are.
