For I can do everything through Christ, who gives me strength. (Phil 4:13)
In secular society we're presented with so many things to lean on as “strength”. Money, work, status, relationships, health and talent…all things that are important, but not a strength in our lives if they don't come first from the One who created them. It's funny but Paul writes “in my weakness He is made strong”. Logically we try and glorify Him through our strengths. When we do this, then it really looks like ‘us' who provided the breakthrough…it's not really miraculous BUT when we glorify Him in our weakness, there is no denying a miracle happened. There's no denying God intervened in your situation. This is scary for us “control-freaks” because we don't know what's gonna happen next! We want the whole plan laid out and assured for us…but God's way is higher! He knows the bigger picture and how it will fit together for the greater good of you and those around you. We have some friends who were running an Espresso Bar (we LOVE coffee!) and the council came and shut them down. At the time it seemed like a massive blow and really unfair. It was tough for their family but they felt His peace in it and chose to trust in Him. They ended up opening up in a new location and their business dramatically increased. It defied their logic and strength of understanding, but God blessed them. “He works all things for good for those that love Him…” Romans 8:28 says. Strength is not found in your own ability but in God's ability to work through you! Today, don't curse and lament about your weaknesses but allow God to shine through them…it will transform your day and life…we love you.
