We’ve all had bad hair days! In fact, I haven’t had one for years since I started losing my hair in my late 20’s and shaved my head… haha! But seriously, there are days when the small things just don’t go right and seem to ruin it. Sometimes the small things mean the most to us in the moment too. Like getting your way or a car park in prime position.
Sometimes we allow small things to have more weight than they deserve… but are you really going to be focusing on a bad hair day on your death bed? Or the rumour that you heard about you on the grapevine that wasn’t true?
It’s how we handle the small stuff that determines how the big picture of our lives work out. The challenge is that we keep looking up – keep looking to God – and get the eternal perspective of our lives.
Luke 16:10 says “If you are faithful in little things, you will be faithful in large ones. But if you are dishonest in little things, you won’t be honest with greater responsibilities.” God does care about the littlest details of our lives, the very hairs on our head, because He knows they add up to the big things when we handle them the right way. Just like it’s the value of compound interest that makes the diligent saver wealthy over time, so too, do our small decisions, mindsets, habits and prayers add up to make a powerful life.
Song of Solomon 2:15 says “Catch the foxes for us, the little foxes that are ruining the vineyards, While our vineyards are in blossom.” What little things need attention in your life today? What little habits and thought processes are holding you back from stepping into the fullness of life God has for you?
Make the small adjustments today that will amplify your future and set you up to live a big life!
