God told them, “I've never quit loving you and never will. Expect love, love, and more love!'” (Jeremiah 31:3 MSG)
When you look in the mirror, what do you see? What are the immediate thoughts that come back at you? Do you see someone unlovable? Someone undeserving or unworthy? The whole message of the Bible, the Good News, is that God doesn't look at you through the lens of your perspective but through the lens of Jesus sacrifice. No amount of work (or lack of work) on your behalf will change that! It's grace that has saved you (Eph 2:8) and grace is an outpouring of love. We've been singing the Martin Smith song “God's Great Dance Floor” as part of worship in church lately. It's a brilliant song and I love this one line: “You'll never stop loving us, no matter how far we run…” You don't have to turn away from God to run from Him. You can love Him and still be running. To ‘not run' is to stand and accept and believe that you are truly loved. And you'll never stop being loved. To ‘not run' is to swim in the ocean of love God has poured out on you. It's to expect love, love and more love! Nothing can separate you from it (Rom 8:38). God's ‘love tap' is stuck in the ‘on position' and it's our choice as to whether we get wet or stay dry! Today switch your thinking from “I'm un-loveable” or “I'm unworthy of love” to “I expect and receive God's powerful love”. Say out loud (remember the power of life and death is in the tongue) “I am loveable and loved”. Expect love and more of it! God bless…
