Curiosity is key in research and development. Without curiosity, without asking:
Where?
What?
Why?
We would have no:
Advancements in medicine, science, law and politics.
We’d have no knowledge of how food can negatively affect some people and not others.
We’d have made no movement away from racism, misogyny, oppression and abuse of power.

Curiosity is one of the driving forces of all development and progress.
Powerful, two minute reads that have helped change the script in thousands of people's lives.

I was visiting my chiropractor, and as she was cracking my neck, vertebra, and pelvis, I silently wondered, who figured out this technique? Who came up with the idea and practice of cracking bones to make someone feel better and properly align their joints? And then who was brave enough to give it a go? Because my chiropractor and her practice have changed me from a chronic migraine sufferer to someone who doesn’t even buy pain relief anymore. (this is not medical advice, just my story).
Jesus said: “Ask, and the gift is yours. Seek, and you’ll discover. Knock, and the door will be opened for you. For every persistent one will get what he asks for. Every persistent seeker will discover what he longs for. And everyone who knocks persistently will one day find an open door.” (Matt 7:7-8).
Even though we humans have come so far already in our history here on this earth, we have quite a way to go. There are still more advancements to make: medicine, health, healthcare, politics, food for everyone, equality in every sphere, our relationship to the earth, how we build things, how we grow things, education… so much more to learn and discover and grow.
Or do you think we’ve arrived at our optimum functional level?
Without “Why;” without curiosity; without asking and seeking and knocking; there can be no, “here’s how to make it better.”
You want to find an open door?
You want answers?
You have needs, for yourself and others?
Are you unsatisfied with the current state of things?
Stay curious. Be persistent. Keep on asking. Stand at that door and knock until it opens. We are part of the research and development team creating the future.

hi I really like this website!! thank you for being an inspiration 🙂
This is a great devotional today, Lizzy and this goes hand-in-hand with something that I've decided to re-discover after so long. I like when you said at the end, “Stay curious. Be persistent. Keep on asking. Stand at that door and knock until it opens. We are part of the research and development team creating the future.”
What I liked about this quote is that we as human beings, we are curious people but when situations and circumstances become too “big” for us, we don't persist; we don't continue to knock on that door until it opens and we've pushed our way through.
Thanks for the encouragement, Josh! And I totally agree! AND, I think Christians are terrible at curiosity… for some reason, we adopt this finality about knowledge and wisdom and the way things should be, rather than leaving room for the divine mysteries, and being curious about God, life, faith… all of it. It's something I've been relearning, and will continue doing. Liz.
Absolutely spot on God’s Warrior. This also ties in with who we are as innovators, who have been given amazing, diverse gifts and talents which we take to the world to share, to steward, which should reflect God’s glory. That makes people curious!
