The wicked run away when no one is chasing them, but the godly are as bold as lions. Prov 28:1 (NLT)
We took our children to the Taronga Zoo in Sydney a while back and one of their fave animals to see we're the lions. They were beautiful… confident… owned their space, very majestic. In fact, their confidence was more like a sense of relaxing, like there was nothing to be worried about.
When you live with guilt and shame constantly knocking on the door of your heart – even though no one person is out to get you – internally you're on the run… fleeing… trying to shake them off your tail.
BUT the righteous… that is, those who have been made right with God and justified by Jesus, can face their accuser, can stand up to guilt and shame, and the voices of their past and present wrongs, with the confident assurance that their ransom has been paid.
Fear has no power to motivate because what it tries to present is powerless to what we have, in Jesus. Boldness isn't arrogance; its assured confidence, and in this case, confidence in Jesus Christ who never fails or forsakes and has paid all our spiritual debts. Be bold today – to the voices of the past, the accusation of the enemy, and the whispered challenge of your worth. You have been redeemed, you are a child of God, you can have confidence in the saving power of Christ.
Love you guys – you're the best…
