“to the weak I became as weak, that I might win the weak. I have become all things to all men, that I might by all means save some.” (I Corinthians 9:22 NKJV)
There is a vastly wide and varied tapestry of humanity on this planet and each individual is loved and valued with the same price tag…Jesus life! As Christians, we spend far too much time provoking people with our dogma than we do loving them with the truth of who Jesus is. When talking of the commandments, Jesus boils them down to two. Love God. Love people. Loving God shouldn't mean that we hate those who don't…It's our job to reconcile the two and allow them to live harmoniously together. I love how the NLT puts this passage “…Yes, I try to find common ground with everyone, doing everything I can to save some.” (1 Cor 9:22 NLT). If you can't find anything in common with someone, look at the ground you stand on! It is the same. You're both sharing the same air and more than anything you're made in the same image of God. If we can't find some commonality, a reason for compassion and a purpose to love, then the power of the gospel dies with us…and Jesus sacrifice was in vain. John 3:17 says that God's heart is not to condemn but to save…we are His hands and feet…let us guide our fellow man into His saving grace through our deep love and respect for each and everyone. Be blessed today…
