Trees need their root system. It's what supplies them with their nutrients and importantly, stability to grow big! A tree's root system will usually go down as deep as the tree is high. It determines whether they can withstand the wind and storms. It determines whether they can handle months of drought and still produce fruit. You'll only grow big in God when your root system is deep into Him. He'll nourish you, provide you with stability (especially against the storms of life…which WILL come!) and you will always produce fruit! But notice that most root systems are hidden underground. It's not what your God relationship looks like in public (your church going or public deeds of generosity) – it's the consistent time you spend with God, hidden away in your room, or driving in the car or within your internal thought life, that will reflect how far your roots go down. Those moments are the ones where He whispers “trust me” and then shows you a grand vision of the future He has planned for you. They're the moments when He says “I want you to adjust this attitude or thought process, or habit so you can live in greater freedom”. Be encouraged today, to consistently spend time in secret, with God and watch your roots go down deep. What happens in your root system will be revealed in your fruit harvest!
