Yet in all these things we are more than conquerors through Him who loved us. Rom 8:37 (NKJV)
Who doesn’t want to be a conqueror? In fact who doesn’t want to be ‘more than a conqueror'??? The words conjure up images of Gladiator-style battles, gruesome and epic, where we come out the victor standing over our foes, weapon in hand and soaking up the adulation and respect of all our on-lookers. What we don’t get, are the visions of the long days of training, shaping and preparing ourselves for the impending battles. We don’t envisage the intensity of the battle and how, at many points, we will want to give up but force ourselves not too. We don’t get the visions of working on our weapons of warfare, getting intimately aquatinted with how they work best – how to use them and compliment our battle style. All these are battles in and of themselves.
Being a conqueror is more than just winning a battle, it’s winning all the battles and completely defeating the foe. Sounds kinda like what Jesus did on the cross. Ya’know? The Jesus that lives in you? That spirit to overcome and conqueror all that would oppose you, dwells inside you. The power to overcome any battle and any adversity you face is found by the Spirit who dwells within you. 1 John 4:4 “…because the Spirit who lives in you is greater than the spirit who lives in the world.” Don’t be afraid of the journey but activate and live in that overcoming power today. Start with the small battles and they, in time will help you overcome the big ones… we love you guys!
