“Kingdom Economics” are pretty much upside down compared to the world's formula for success. Getting ahead in secular terms means trusting in your own strength, climbing the ladder no matter who you step on, getting as much for yourself as possible, and doing whatever it takes no matter who it costs! But Kingdom is different. It shows the way to real and lasting fruitful living: The first shall be last and the last shall be first (Matt 20:16). The humble will be exalted and the proud will be resisted (James 4:6). Serve and not be served (Mark 10:45). Strength in weakness (2 Cor 12:10) and whoever loses his life will find it (Matt 10:39). From a society standpoint we are constantly taught and conditioned to live for ourselves so it can be a wrestle getting your mind around “Kingdom Economics”. But you don't have to dig too deep to see that secular success is not that successful. The key to living by the Word and a God-purposed life is “surrender”. It starts with surrendering to Jesus but becomes a daily “not mine but your will be done”. As you lose your life in Him you'll discover purpose and destiny like none the world could offer.
