This passage in Colossians 3:14 is truly beautiful. It encourages us to clothe ourselves – deck out in, choose, color our lives with tenderhearted mercy, kindness, humility, gentleness, patience – and MOST of all LOVE. Array yourself in them. And if these are what Jesus would have us wear… The very fabric of who He is must exude them. In times of elections, financial hardship, deepening social issues, privacy challenges, wars… Jesus is not anti anyone – He loves us ALL… no matter what, no matter where… Fully deeply and truly… Enough to die for us all. Can you imagine the impact we would make today if we simply wore mercy over judgement, kindness over offense, humility instead of arrogance, gentleness in the place of harsh words, patience over emotional debt collecting… And most of all Love… The Love of Christ that binds us together – every culture, every race, every one – in the bonds of perfection.
