Jesus told him, “I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one can come to the Father except through me. (John 14:6 NLT)
Simply put, there is only one way that leads to life. One truth that opens up access to the Father. Jesus. Period. The end. But first you have to move in His direction for that life giving power to be unlocked. Yes He is always with you, no matter where you find yourself or what situation you find yourself in BUT it’s the kindness of God that leads us to repentance (Rom 2:4) 1. His kindness and love is always with us…no matter what. 2. To be led you have to move from where you are. 3. Repentance literally means to do a 180 degree turn. We can’t do life our way and and claim to be followers of His way. We have to make a willing choice to turn from our flesh (our own self focused desires) and turn to His way. His way is not easy either. Matt 7 talks about the path to destruction being ‘wide’ but the path to life being ‘narrow’. There are going to be times and seasons where you have to ‘press in’ against every feeling and opposition to ‘the way’. There is a spiritual war on and the enemy just ain’t gonna lie down on the job. So there is no promise that following Jesus, chasing after Him, pressing toward the goal (as Paul would say), is going to be easy HOWEVER He promises the burden will be light! “For my yoke is easy to bear, and the burden I give you is light.” (Matthew 11:30 NLT) Today, no matter what opposition you face, decide to choose His way, His truth and it will give you the power of His life.
