“And you will know the truth, and the truth will set you free.” (John 8:32)

Many atheists and philosophers will argue that truth is relative and subjective. What they're really talking about is perceived truth which is entirely different from absolute truth.

To give you an example, gravity is an absolute truth. The Statue of Liberty is an absolute truth.

They way a person feels, at any given time, is a relative truth. If one person's truth is to deny that gravity or the Statue of Liberty are in existence, it doesn't stop others from perceiving the facts that they actually do exist. But if a person says that gravity and the Statue of Liberty make them FEEL a certain way, there's no denying that to be a truth, relative to that person.Having those feelings doesn't make others feel the same way though.

This passage in John 8 says that when you know the truth it will set you free. The way you can tell a truth is absolute (meaning it affects every person) is the freedom it brings.

Once you realise that gravity is a truth then you operate within the truth of it's force. Trying to break its laws is obviously futile. Once you realise that the Statue of Liberty is real, then when you're walking across Liberty Island you won't be surprised when you bump into the Statue.

It's the same with the truth that you were created and not just some cosmic accident. When you have this revelation then a freedom comes. Freedom from what other's think or feel. Freedom from fear and anxiety about your future. Freedom from living an aimless and truth-less life.

Col 3:15 says “allow peace to be your umpire…”. Freedom equals peace and peace will surpass all your understanding (relative truth) to guard your heart and mind in Christ Jesus (Phil 4:7).

Live in truth today…it WILL set you free! God bless as you go and conquer this day.
