I have come as a light to shine in this dark world, so that all who put their trust in me will no longer remain in the dark. John 12:46 (NLT)

We said yesterday that trusting God and His word actually gets rid of the filthy, yucky stuff in our lives. Here in John 12 Jesus says that all who trust Him will no longer be in the dark. Ps 119 says that “…His word is a lamp unto my feet…” it actually lights up the darkness to direct and reveal truth to us. When I was 15, I went on a school outdoor adventure camp. The first day we hiked along a mountain ridge up to a camp site. It was winter so it was cold, foggy and lightly snowing…and it got dark very quickly. Essentially we arrived at the camp site in the dark and set up our tents etc. When we woke in the morning we were greeted by a spectacular view of the valley below us. We hadn't seen it the night before because of the dark, but the light the next morning revealed it in all it's beauty. The truth and beauty of who God created us to be is always before us but it's only when His light breaks the darkness that we can see it. Today you might be in a dark place. It maybe a relationship that didn't work out or a financial issue in your life. Perhaps illness and disease has struck you, but don't allow it to darken your vision. Trust is the super glue for every relationship, if you don't have it, it won't bond. And if you don't trust God, you won't see the future He has planned for you. Put your trust in God and allow Him to shine His bright light of truth directly on your darkness. You'll see things differently and it'll give you hope for your future.
