In the Garden of Eden were two trees: The Tree of Life and the Tree of the Knowledge of Good and Evil. Both trees had fruit that was desirable. But one was forbidden. It unlocked knowledge and experience on its consumers. The fruit of the other tree only revealed one thing…life! Not all things and all knowledge, but just one tiny and powerful truth: God. The fruit of knowledge is seductive. It makes us feel like we are God…all knowing and all powerful. But knowledge is a revealer and in the presence of God it makes us acutely aware of what we don't have…like Adam and Eve hiding from God in the Garden. Eating ‘life' fruit reveals God. Eating ‘knowledge' fruit conceals God. God didn't design us to have every experience and all knowledge. He designed us TO EXPERIENCE HIM. Life. ‘Knowledge' fruit causes us to focus on ourselves, looking inward. It gathers for itself. ‘Life' fruit is generous and gives. It produces a harvest for others to come and freely receive. Despite the choice that Adam and Eve made in the Garden you have a choice today. Living in sin-nature (eating knowledge fruit) you'll look at people and things and categorise them on a scale from good to evil. It's linear. It's narrow. Living in spirit nature (eating life fruit) you'll only look for God, the source of life, in everything. It's unending. It's eternal. It's wide open and spacious! “…I have come that they may have life, and that they may have it more abundantly.” – John 10:10. Eat some life fruit today.
