We are children of God. As it is with those of us who have kids, God only wants good things and great joy for us, His children. He is a good God, who does good and loves us completely, unapologetically and fiercely. How misunderstood He is when we accuse Him of punishing us when we find ourselves in troubled times. There are times where He corrects us through His word and directs us through difficult but necessary times for our destiny and His purposes on the earth. And then there are times when life deals us a bad hand and He cares for us, comforts us and gives us the grace to get through.
Romans 8:28 says “And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose.” He is not punishing you, He's not trying to hurt you or overwhelm you with hardship… But He will allow seasons that seem like “punishment” to train us, hone our faith, grow our endurance, firm up our stability, stimulate our prayer…
So take heart – you are a child of the almighty, all loving, all gracious God, and He is not punishing you but leading and guiding you down the path of His purpose and joy. Love you guys…
