Thoughts and Practice - Pocket Fuel Daily Devotional on Phil 4:8

So keep your thoughts continually fixed on all that is authentic and real, honorable and admirable, beautiful and respectful, pure and holy, merciful and kind. Phil 4:8 (TPT)

“Don’t be pulled in different directions or worried about a thing. Be saturated in prayer throughout each day, offering your faith-filled requests before God with overflowing gratitude. Tell him every detail of your life, then God’s wonderful peace that transcends human understanding, will make the answers known to you through Jesus Christ. So keep your thoughts continually fixed on all that is authentic and real, honorable and admirable, beautiful and respectful, pure and holy, merciful and kind. And fasten your thoughts on every glorious work of God, praising him always. Follow the example of all that we have imparted to you and the God of peace will be with you in all things.” Phil 4:6-9 The Passion Translation.

This last 7 days we looked at:

Practicing love, neural pathways and the power of our subconscious brain and God’s power to change it with his love.

If you’ve had a week like us, it's been a big one! Ha! Take the time to go back over any devotions you may have missed. PLEASE feel free to email us any thoughts around them or how God has spoken to you through them at talktous@pktfuel.com

I LOVE that we can LEARN love, empathy, hope and peace. Sometimes, in certain situations, these things are not our automatic responses. It’s not like we meet Christ and then BOOM! Suddenly love and hope are our go-to reactions. When we meet Christ, we meet the hope keeper and love creator. By grace, he gently shows us day, by day, by day, how to make his way our way. Practice.

And herein lies the great hope of grace. It takes practice, and that's OK. The Divine has an eternal amount of time to spend teaching us. And he is a most gracious and ready teacher.

Take a few minutes to reflect on what you fill your mind with, what practices you are perfecting in your life, and ask yourself how they are affecting you and those around you.

May you, dear friend, practice love just as Christ continually practices his love towards you with devotion, tenderness and relentless care. And if you fall, just get back up again. Practice. Practice. And practice some more.

Fix your thoughts on what is true, noble, reputable, authentic, compelling, gracious—the best, not the worst; the beautiful, not the ugly; things to praise, not things to curse… Do that, and God, who makes everything work together, will work you into his most excellent harmonies.” (Phil 4:8-9 MSG).
