Psalm 118:24
“This is the day the Lord has made. We will rejoice and be glad in it.”
It's Easter Monday here in Australia, and as I've reflected over the weekend about what Jesus has done for me… thinking about the cross, the resurrection, my heart responded with ‘I don't want to waste or neglect this great gift God has given me, how do I honour the sacrifice of Jesus'… And this Psalm popped into my mind. “This is the Day The Lord has made…” There are no guarantees in life, none of us can predict what tomorrow will hold. But we all have this day. This day that the Lord has made, has set apart, planned, determined… This isn't just any day – no days are wasted or wasteful in the Kingdom of heaven – this is the day to rejoice, to be glad in, to thank God for. Yep, no matter what, Jesus is with you this day and can bring good from whatever this day holds. Through the power and great sacrifice of His death, Jesus is here in THIS day, with all the power, might, revelation, hope, strength, healing that brought Him back to life. That same power dwells within you today. Be encouraged and challenged, as I have been, to make this day, this ordinary Monday, a day empowered and fuelled by the extraordinary and completed work of Christ. Make this day the day you start new, the day you make the decision you need to, the day you pray for your children, the day you reach out to a friend, the day you sit in His presence, the day you step out in faith, the day you fill your home with love, the day you bring the Gospel of peace to your school, the day that Jesus rules and reigns in our hearts… This is THE day… Own it, live it, love it… Love you… xo
