The Sunday Best

Most Popular PktFuel.com post: In Control » (from The Control Series)
We love the idea of control, and that we have it. Or at least, someone does. We love knowing the certainty of two plus two equalling four. We’re taught to color in the lines and treat people nice.
If you study, you’ll get good grades. If you practice, skills will grow. If you behave, you’ll be rewarded. If you’re bad, you’ll be disciplined. If we do this and that, the outcome will be certain.
Controlled, neat, reasonable, measured, nice. Finished off with a bow. A shiny silk one….

Book I'm Reading: This week I read the book “Third Circle Theory: Purpose Through Observation” by Pejman Ghadimi. I've read it before and wouldn't rate it as an ground breaking book however did make me think in new ways about the world and how things operate. If you're looking to change your career or feeling unsettled about the world and the powers that be, this is a great book to break something new open in you.
(I mostly listen to books using Audible. Signup now and get two books free without any obligation. It's an awesome way to read – or listen – to books!)
On the DVO App: Coming up this week, the devotional app we are main contributors to, is a series called “Blood and Stories” delving into Revelations (eek!) and the purpose in the narrative of our lives. Subscribers on the app get exclusive early access to content. Download it here for iOS and here for Android.
Video we loved: So there is a lot of propaganda about Muslim culture and in particular “Sharia Law” – it's causing a little bit of a stir here in Australia but I love this video by Junkee about what it actually is… and isn't! (This will help us all get along!)
Quote we've been pondering:
“The devil's quintessential being, the source from which he draws his lies, is the violent contagion that has no substance to it. The devil does not have a stable foundation; he has no being at all. To clothe himself in the semblance of being, he must act as a parasite on God's creatures.” — René Girard (Catholic Theologian)
Podcast we loved: OK, we featured this ,Tim Ferriss podcast last week but seriously he's done it again in this episode with guest Mr Money Moustache. I'd never heard of Mr Money Moustache, but after hearing his story in this episode it has inspired our minimalism/deliberate/conscious lifestyle even more.
