Jesus looked at them intently and said, “Humanly speaking, it is impossible. But with God everything is possible.” Matt 19:26 (NLT)
This verse, in context, is an the account of the Rich Young Ruler. Jesus says this line after the disciples ask “… who in the world can be saved?”. Humanly speaking, eternal salvation is achieved through righteousness before God but righteousness is perfectness and humanly speaking, we’re damaged goods… incapable of living perfectly. Many would argue that this passage often gets used completely out of context. “I can be healed because all things are possible with God” or “I’ve lost my job but all things are possible for God!”.
The reality is that the language Jesus uses around salvation is not just about your relationship to God. Whenever the Bible speaks of eternal salvation it is, in fact talking of complete and whole restoration of every facet and nuance of your life. It’s not reserved for one segment. Whenever you encounter trials do not be ashamed to confess and declare that ‘all things are possible with God' for your situation. It’s actually what God has in mind for you and what Jesus' work on the cross paid for.
Whatever situation you face today – no matter how impossible – be bold enough to believe that God can bring it back into the ‘possible' realm. I mean is ‘possible’ far better than ‘impossible’? I would say so! God bless you beautiful people today
