And his name will be the hope of all the world. (Matthew 12:21 NLT)

This world is darkened and saddened by the power of sin. I know, looking within myself, if left to my own devices, my life would probably would reach depraved depths. Even after being a Christian for 12 years I surprise myself with the thoughts and attitudes that pop into my head. The key is that they don't stay there. If they do, they germinate and grow. And what you sow is what you reap. One of the keys to them not staying there is bringing them into His presence and confessing The name of Jesus over them. Try this next time a dark thought or attitude comes upon you. Say “In Jesus Name I command you to leave” and if it doesn't leave then start thanking Him for all the good things He's done in your life. Those nasty little critters slink off pretty quickly when you invite His presence into your situation. James 4:8 says “Draw near to God and He will draw near to you” – It starts with our drawing first. I imagine it like this: I'm standing at a train station platform at night. There's a Police Officer hanging around off to the side. Out of the shadows come some pretty shady characters…and they're coming for me. I'm tempted to give up in fear but I move myself right into the company of the Police Officer. As I do, those ‘shady characters' back away knowing that their authority doesn't compare to that of the Officer's. Where I am positioned, determines how I'm protected. When you're positioned in the presence of Jesus you're protected by His authority. It's because of this authority that we have a hope…a light on those darkened nights. And it's in this hope that we find our refuge. It's in the ‘hope of all the world' – Jesus – in His presence that we are protected! Have brilliant day 🙂
