In Ephesians 3, Paul goes on to say in V15 (from yesterday's verse) “the creator of everything in heaven and on earth.” It's like Paul has said this to remind us just exactly who God is. We pray to the Creator – where everything began, the mastermind, the genius, the incredible, big, amazing, creative, gracious, loving God – of ALL, EVERYTHING, FULLSTOP. We can converse and be in close relationship with the ONE who made us and all. It's the balance of being a friend of Jesus, being close with Him, but not getting too familiar that we forget who He is. Understanding this balance helps mature us as Christians. Sometimes when Jesus is just our friend we fail to put our complete trust in Him and have faith in the direction He tells us to go. When He's just our Lord, we can feel like we have to be good and do good to deserve His presence. But when we get the balance right, when He is both Lord and Friend, the Creator of us, the earth, the universe, and heaven itself AND most trusted confidante – we can “come boldly before the throne of grace” (Heb 4:16) being confident that He can love us and lead us at the same time. Our Lord is also our loving father, our Saviour AND our friend, the one we pray our deepest fears and greatest joys too is also the creator of heaven and earth. Pray knowing that who you pray to is more than capable, able and willing to answer your prayer exactly how you need it. Have faith. Be blessed guys.
