2 Samuel 22:31 “As for God, his way is perfect: The Lord's word is flawless; he shields all who take refuge in him.”
PART 2 (yesterday was part 1) Taking refuge in God is a proactive thing. We don't actually ‘hide' or get taken away for safety in a negative sense in order to go to the refuge of The Lord. We are in His refuge simply by being in His word and following his ways. That's where you find His protection and rest. I meet frustrated Christians who are spiritually sitting and waiting for the lotto ball of Gods rest and rejuvenation to fall into their hearts. I've been there myself. But I find more often than not that it is in progress, in action, in movement and activity that the promises of God spring up in my life. It's that whole ‘faith without works is dead ‘ scenario. We cry out to God “I need protection, I need rest, I need refuge' – I believe God answers with – its within my perfect way, may flawless word. If you need a refuge today, it is in Jesus that it will be found. But be encouraged to do more that just wait for that feeling of safety to come. Follow His ways – maybe that means your refuge will be fo und in forgiving someone, in the ceasing of gossip, in the sacrificial gift of generosity, in being obedient, in honouring those in authority… Follow his perfect ways, his flawless word… It's in this place that ALL who take refuge in Him will be shielded. Love you guys, have a brilliant day.
