**SNEAK PEAK DEVOTION**
You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, with all your soul, and with all your strength. Deut 6:5 (NKJV)
Moses concluded his message to the Israelites around the Ten Commandments with the directive to love… The Message says “Love God, your God, with your whole heart: love him with all that’s in you, love him with all you’ve got!”
Love with everything you’ve got.
Because you’ve got something.
I find it interesting when I hear people say “it was all Jesus… It wasn’t me, but God in me… If it wasn’t for God I wouldn’t have made it…” I’ve said these things myself, and still do from time to time, with meaning. But I think sometimes we take this notion too far and act as if without Jesus, we are lifeless shells having nothing within with which to give anyone or make any difference. I have friends that don’t know Christ, and they are successful, living what we would call blessed, experienced tragedy and hardship and made it through the other side… They are not lifeless, incapable beings.
We are all created in the image of God, knit and woven together by His precise and steady hands within our mothers wombs. God does not create lifelessly, colourlessly or unintentionally…
You have strength within you. It’s been there all along.
You may not feel it, you may not have seen it around for a while… but it’s there. It peeks out from behind pride and insecurity, it scurries away from fear and heartache… but even still, strength dwells within you. It must do because the One who made you is strength Himself. And as His hands wrapped around your unformed self and intricately joined you together, strength dripped from His brow, rolled down His arms, flowed from his fingers and fell into your developing being. It’s in us all.
God’s commands to the Israelites that day were concluded with a directive to love Him with everything that they had; heart, mind and strength. He would not command His people to do something they were incapable of achieving.
You are strong. You have a strength thats unique to you, a strength like no one else. It was put there by God Himself and it is yours. Yours to activate, exercise and give.
Take a look, I’m sure you’ll find it. Sooner or later.
