Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid or terrified because of them, for the Lord your God goes with you; he will never leave you nor forsake you. Deut 31:6 (NIV)

STRENGTH SERIES – PART 7

This passage of scripture takes place at the moment when Moses passes his leadership over to Joshua, knowing that it will be him who will lead the people into the promised land… A land foretold of, yes, but an unknown and untamed land… they did not know what the days ahead held except that God had promised it was theirs.

Unknown days journeyed with a known and trustworthy God.

Many different experiences await you. Good and bad, beautiful and ugly, easy and hard… It's all there. It all resides within this fabric we know as life.

Be strong. You have a strength within you. Sometimes we can’t see it until hardship or challenges bring it to our attention. Don’t listen to the lies that you are inherently weak and incapable of strength. We are the children of God, and strength flows through our spiritual bloodline.

Be strong. Devoted to your purpose, to love, faith and others. Devotion gives your strength momentum and longevity.

Be strong, you never know who needs a share of your grit. Those afflicted, beaten up by life… Give them some of that beautiful power, that love and hope you have within you. Spread that stuff around like crazy. You may need it yourself one day.

Be strong. Hold on, your rescue is coming. Hope is on the way. Don’t lose heart or give up.

Be strong. “My grace is enough; it’s all you need. My strength comes into its own in your weakness.” (2 Cor 12:10)

These adventurous and unknown days will be travelled upon by the firm steps of faith and grace. On the days where air fills your lungs and you could run for a thousand miles and then some, GO FOR IT. On the days where your body aches, your heart is heavy and your mind unclear, lean into the strength of God and allow him to lead you through wastelands that should have destroyed you, and into the open fields of grace.

Don't be terrified by what could be ahead, but look forward with the expectation and hope of the possibilities within God.

So get up, dust yourself off, start the journey or just keep on going – Jesus is with you, and you are strong enough.
