Therefore take up the whole armor of God, that you may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, stand. Eph 6:13 (NKJV)
We talk a lot about momentum, moving forward, not being complacent, always growing and advancing, but there is something very powerful when you learn to stand. In some ways advancement comes from simply standing your ground, being immovable in your conviction and focus on Christ.
Life is constantly moving. Sometimes I feel a little nervous if things become still, as if I need to be doing something, be busy, to be achieving. But much can be achieved when you stand. Stand on your convictions, stand on the promises of God – His word. Stand prepared and ready for a breakthrough.
The start of this verse says ‘put on all the armour of God, and when you have done all… Stand'. So tie your life up with the truth, guard with your heart with righteousness, step out in peace, shield your life with faith, let your salvation in Christ cover your mind and thoughts, and fill your head with joy… And then grab the word of God, your sword, your way forward… Hold onto it tightly and never let it drop. Get prepared, get ready for your life, for your day. Then you can stand against the evil one, the ways of this world and any situation.
Tall, strong, ready, anchored and empowered. Just as you were created to be.
