This promise lasts a lifetime… It starts in V3 with “I have cared for you since you were born. Yes, I carried you before you were born.” From before you were born, in Jeremiah 1:5, God says “I knew you, and ordained you…” That is true of us all. From before birth, to this very day, hour and moment, and until your death and arrival into heaven, God is with and for you. It is He who sustains you continually. Even before we knew Christ, He was there, holding the universe together, weaving His grace through the fragile threads of humanity, waiting for the moment you would realise that He was always there and always will be.
It can be so easy to forget, to ignore and to just not realise, how present God is in our everyday lives. The highs and lows, the glorious moments and the hideous ones… Through embarrassing and humiliating situations to seasons of success and the realisation of dreams – He is there. His heartbeat pulsing life into all and everything around us.
Let this verse empower you today. Don’t just take it as a soft hug or a piece of comfort-pie, but let it bring you to attention. Let hope cause you to stand up and drive you into your future. You have been and will be carried by His grace; You have been and will be sustained by His power, and you have been and will continue to be rescued by His love.
