Isaiah 9:6 “For unto us a Child is born, Unto us a Son is given; And the government will be upon His shoulder. And His name will be called Wonderful, Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace.”
Quite simply today, the greatest gift given at Christmas has been the gift of Jesus Christ. Our wonderful Savior whose love fills our hearts with awe and wonder… Wisest counselor knowing the beginning and the end – filled with endless hope and possibilities. He is our Mighty God… He's not fragile, old or brittle… but strong, awesome – mighty to heal and save. And yet in the midst of His might is His HUGE fathers heart – He is our everlasting father – He won't skip town, He won't back down on His promises or His providence. The Father of all fathers loves us, His children, with an all consumming, everlasting, gracious love. And He is our prince of peace… Custodian of the great peace that surpasses all understanding – that can reign in our hearts during the most tempest storm and the calmest breeze.
