>James 5:16 “Confess your sins to each other and pray for each other so that you may be healed…” I love the spirit of this verse… it speaks of creating safe places for yourself and others to talk about struggles, and get prayer, not judgement, for them. We all sin right? RIGHT? Yet I find there is much social pressure in and out of Christian circles to present a ‘I've got it altogether' front… Here's the point of the gospel… On our own its impossible to be spiritually whole, that's why we need Christ – He makes the difference!! Don't be ashamed that you fall short, don't be ashamed that you needs Christs forgiveness daily, it's the whole point and power of the cross – we can come into His presence bodly, repent and be redeemed – and He loves to save and forgive us. So… Allow others the same grace. Be the kind of Christian that when a friend confesses a sin, don't judge… That's not your job… PRAY – pray for them and with them. I know so many people who have lived secret lives of a pain AS CHRISTIANS because they didn't feel there was a healthy or safe place to confess their sins and overcome them through repentance and prayer. Some things we get ourselves caught up in need the gentle hand of accountability and faith filled prayer of a friend, to break the hold of it off your life. Today, for your friends facing struggles and for your inner struggles too, speak the word of God over them, and then pray, pray, pray… This is the path of healing. Love and respect xo
