Anxiety, worry, busyness and stress make for a closed up heart. I’ve been there so many times!! I, personally, have lots to fill my day with – business, work, two toddlers, cleaning, groceries, cooking, shopping, more cleaning… More working… And if I’m not careful, my heart can become stiff and rigid with the busyness of life. If anything ‘extra’ or different should happen to come along and knock on the door of my heart, it is left out on the street alone… I just can’t fit any more in or I will explode.

I think many of us live like this – maybe in different seasons and different ways – studying, working, being a mum, being a dad… Challenges, finances, testing, trials, heartache, health… All of it – fills up our hearts to overflowing, blocking it up so to speak. Living with stress is so damaging to every area of our lives – emotionally, physically and relationally… And it's everywhere – an epidemic that's quickly becoming the norm.
God has a different disposition in mind for your heart. Stress does not come from Him. He wants us to relax with trust, rest in peace and work in hope. Don’t allow the busyness of life, or your circumstances to jam up your heart and keep your life closed to new seasons and new hope.

Phil 4:6-7 (The Message) says,

“Don’t fret or worry. Instead of worrying, pray. Let petitions and praises shape your worries into prayers, letting God know your concerns. Before you know it, a sense of God’s wholeness, everything coming together for good, will come and settle you down. It’s wonderful what happens when Christ displaces worry at the centre of your life.”

Allow peace to pry open your closed and tired heart. You never know what amazing things are coming your way that need an open heart in order to enter your life.

Today, instead of stressing out and being filled with worry, just pray. Let God know everything and then allow His peace to fill you, clear your mind and open your heart. Bless ya.
