With all this going for us, my dear, dear friends, stand your ground. And don’t hold back. Throw yourselves into the work of the Master, confident that nothing you do for him is a waste of time or effort. 1 Cor 15:58 (MSG)
Ever been through certain things and thought to yourself “That was a waste of time…” Like cooking something new with really expensive ingredients and it turns out to be horrible… waste of time and money, right? Or given your heart and life to something – a job, a project, a person – only to be left high and dry… waste of time and energy, right?
Wrong.
Rom 8:26-28 (MSG) says, “Meanwhile, the moment we get tired in the waiting, God’s Spirit is right alongside helping us along. If we don’t know how or what to pray, it doesn’t matter. He does our praying in and for us… That’s why we can be so sure that every detail in our lives of love for God is worked into something good.”
God doesn’t waste a thing – small or large. When you give your heart and life to Him, He can heal any damage, renew dead hopes and dreams, give you new visions and purpose, all the while bringing maturity and growth to your heart. There is always something to learn, opportunities to grow through, lessons to be thankful for, and strength to build.
If this is the case, then we don’t have to live timidly. We CAN put our whole lives into living, giving it our best shot, following God down the road He’s paved for us enthusiastically and wholeheartedly.
In the seasons that seem wasted and moments where the dream seems miles away, keep on going – stand your ground and don’t hold yourself back from His love and grace. It’s not an aggressive or angry ‘stand your ground’ against others. Rather, it’s a humble confidence that when you stand on the firm foundation of God's love and word, and don’t hold your heart back from Him, He works all things for good…
Nothing is wasted. He uses it all to expose His grace and love to our hearts and the world around us. So don’t hold back, be free and LIVE fully in His promises and the assurance of His faithfulness. You've got nothing to lose and everything to gain when you live a life full of God’s love.
