“And now abide faith, hope, love, these three; but the greatest of these is love.” (1 Corinthians 13:13)

It's pretty obvious that love has lost it's genuine meaning in our everyday life.

“I love you”, “I love these shoes”, “I love bacon and eggs” etc. Things with not much value get the “love” tag as easily as the things and people we value much. The real meaning of love is actually value.

By taking your words and backing them up with action, you're proving that you value what you say you “love”. Words, although powerful, are cheap and so action speaks value and value shouts the true meaning of love.

Paul talks about faith, hope and love…words which are foundational stones for our faith in Jesus, but he claims the greatest of them is love. When Jesus went to the cross, it proved how valuable you and I are. It wasn't just lip service or a casual statement…it was the ultimate sign that He loves you and values you.

That being said, it doesn't matter what value you put on yourself or others, He still thinks you're worth the highest price…and He's paid it. That's why John 3:16 says “For God so LOVED the world that He GAVE His only Son…” God backed up His words with some action…to prove you're valuable to Him.

OK so I guess you get the picture now. It's time to start living like you're valuable AND start valuing others whom you say you love. Blessings!
