I look up to the mountains— does my help come from there? My help comes from the Lord, who made heaven and earth! Ps 121:1-2 (NLT)

When you're in a valley, you're subject to many adversities. Predators, darkness, & fear to name a few. These things tend to keep your sights low and keep you looking down. Even though it's usually the hardest, it's at these times we need to be looking up. When you lift your vision, it fills your eyes and mind with more than just your circumstance.

The opposite is often referred to as ‘navel-gazing.’ Staring down at the ground with a narrowed focus, limited view and a depressed posture. This is definitely NOT the way God wants you to live. He has so much more for you than where you are right now, and it's not His will that you live in the ‘valley.' When we look up and get a vision of the mountain top, we're instantly filled with a sense of the bigness God wants us to live in. It inspires hope and encourages us to be all that we can be. It spurs us on to higher ground and greater things. It fills our eyes with light and our heart with expectation.

So even if you are in a ‘valley situation’ right now, you can still look up, you can still choose to believe and see by faith the goodness to come. AND your help comes from the Lord. You are not stuck in this valley alone – Jesus is right there with you. He is your help! The same God who made heaven and earth and who breathed life into man is the one who will lead and guide you through this valley and out the other side.

So don’t panic, don’t be afraid of the valley… Just look up and hold your head high. Keep on going. It takes a little bit of effort to start, but Jesus is there with you, empowering you with grace and being the strength to your weakness!

We love you, and we know that your best days, in Him, are ahead!
