Live Openly and Expansively

One of the things I love most about Jesus is that there are absolutely no prerequisites to come to Him. You don't have to have a perfect record. You dont have to know the Bible or even much about God. There's no VIP list waiting at the door. It's come as you are, baggage and all (but get ready to lose the baggage!). It's a wide invitation into an even more wide and spacious life. Most who look at the Christian faith from a distance, think it's steeped in rules and regulations, but the truth is it's the most liberating and freeing lifestyles one could encounter. “So if the Son sets you free, you are truly free.” (John 8:36 NLT). The devil has some of us sussed and knows that if he can keep us living in a pen in our paddock of freedom then we'll be less effective for defeating his kingdom. Fear is one of the pens the devil uses to small down a Christians big life. But God hasn't given you that spirit of fear. He has given us the Prince of Peace…Jesus! An extension of that strategy is convincing us to withhold, to be less generous than we should. This withholding out of fear keeps us much smaller than God ever intended. It's a life of generosity and sacrifice that actually enlarge and enrichs us and Jesus sets this example by showing us how to serve well and sacrifice even better.
