“..to govern the day and night, and to separate the light from the darkness. And God saw that it was good.” (Gen 1:18)

In natural terms, the smallest amount of light has the unique ability to overcome an incredible amount of darkness. Conversely, it takes a huge amount of darkness to overcome the light.

When you think about our planet in relation to the sun, the side of earth that turns it's back on the sun is in the dark. Not only is it in the dark, but it also gets cold as it's shielded from the loving rays of warmth.

Isn't this such a picture of us and our relationship to God?

When we turn our backs on Him we're forced to face a reality that is bleak, dark and cold. Stuck out in the cold and faced with little illumination, we fumble for what is right and true, but with very little light to see, how can we ever know. And with no warmth for comfort, how can we ever be secure.

It's when we turn to face the Son, Jesus, the radiant light and hope of all mankind, that we can see the truth and be comforted in what our future holds.

It's truth that sets us free, but it's light that lets us see the truth. That's why it's so important to allow God to deal with your pride.

Pride will have you turn your back and do things your own way…to take control for yourself. But pride is always followed up by a fall (Prov 16:18). Probably because pride insists on walking around in the dark!

God has separated the darkness from the light for us, through Jesus. Allow His warmth and illumination to shine on your life and guide you into all truth. It really is the only way to live! We are praying and believing for your best today…
