Imagine an angel coming to you in the middle of the night. You have never seen one before and were never expecting one to show up, but as sure as the dawn, an angel stands before you and starts speaking to you about the plan God has for you… And not just any plan, a crazy, impossible, ludicrous, ridiculous, inconceivable plan. That is exactly what happened to Mary one night. Not yet married to Joseph, a teenage girl, living in suburbia, ordinary, normal, get-lost-in-the-crowd kind of girl. It wasn’t her ‘situation’ that God was drawn to, but her pure heart and her devotion. And the promise given to her, the plan explained, was nothing short of crazy. A real “face palmer”. She was to give birth to the saviour of the universe, the long awaited one, the son of God. AND she was to fall pregnant without ever having been with a man. A virgin birth. HECTIC! Yet, she believed.
The dreams that God has whispered into your heart, the plans He’s shown you, the path He wants you to go down… No matter how impossible they may seem, no matter how dark the night was when you heard the declaration of the promise… BELIEVE. Just believe. The only thing that would leave your destiny unfulfilled is your disbelief.
Hold onto that God dream, remember the words and plans God has spoken to you. Write them down, never let them go. And live believing… Walk through each day knowing that “He who promised is faithful.” Mary believed and she was blessed with the fulfilment of her destiny. What an incredible legacy she leaves, not just women, but for us all.
