You’re blessed when you’re content with just who you are—no more, no less. That’s the moment you find yourselves proud owners of everything that can’t be bought. Matt 5:5 (MSG)

When it comes to some of the issues and challenges we face today, individually and collectively, I think many of them are born of these two things: People who think too much of themselves and people who think too little of themselves.

There is a difference between confidence and arrogance. Confidence is inclusive of others, arrogance is exclusive. Pride blinds us of the need around us and actually of the need within us.

There is also a difference between humility and a bad self esteem. When we second guess ourselves, put ourselves down, and misplace our value, it also blinds us to the opportunities around us to make a difference, to be the light, to be a help.

Both dispositions can rob us from our true destinies.

This passage says “You're blessed when you're content with just who you are—no more, no less…” When you were formed in your mothers womb, when you were created within the heart of God, it was done with perfect precision. Who you are in Christ is just PERFECT for right here, right now… no more, no less… In humble confidence.

In the Garden of Eden, the original context of our existence, all that Adam and Eve experienced was life! No concept of good or bad… Just life.

It was found within the intimate relationship they experienced walking with God. The moment that they became aware of the scale of good to evil – a linear perspective rather than an eternal perspective – it severed the relationship they had with God and their identity was changed.

Ephesians 1:11 in the Message says that it's in Christ we find out who we are and what we're living for!

Your identity and esteem will find its true north when you live connected to God and you will be blessed…regardless of what happens!

Much love
