Today's PF is dedicated to the people and families of Newtown, Connecticut… Here in Australia, an ocean and half the earth away, we've watched and listened with broken hearts and held onto our children ever so tightly. My friends who don't know Jesus often ask me “if God loves us so much, why does he allow bad things to happen”… It might be cliche to talk about this, but here's what I think. Father God is not a monarch, a dominator, a manipulator or a control freak. He gave us free will. He won't make us do anything… This means our actions in this world and how they effect others are completely our responsibility… Which also means, the world is full of amazing people, but also littered with evil… And most of us feel the effect of both. Man is responsible. But Jesus, He makes all the difference… In the midst of great highs and in the valley of the lowest lows, it is Jesus who is ever present, ever gentle, and ever able to heal your broken heart and fill you once again with hope that goes beyond the realm and responsibilities of man. There are no sweet words in a time as bitter as this… But we would quote Isaiah 41:10 “Fear not, for I am with you; do not look around you in terror and be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you, yes, I will help you; yes, I will hold you up and retain you with My [victorious] right hand.”
With all our prayers, hearts and love in Jesus name… xxoo
