I lift up my eyes to the mountains— where does my help come from? (Psalm 121:1 NIV)

When you're in a valley, you're subject to many adversities. Predators, darkness, & fear to name a few. These things tend to keep your sights low and keep you looking down. Even though it's usually the hardest, it's at these times we need to be looking up. When you lift your vision, it fills your eyes and mind with more than just your circumstance. The opposite is often referred to as ‘navel-gazing' which invokes an image of inward focus and downward posture. This is definitely NOT the way God wants you to live. He has so much more for you than where you are right now and it's not His will that you live in the ‘valley'. When we look up and get a vision of the mountain top, we're instantly filled with a sense of the bigness God wants us to live in. It inspires hope and encourages us in all we can be. It spurs us on to higher ground and greater things. It fills our eyes with light and our heart with expectation. Today, make a conscious effort to keep your sights up and your head high. It takes a little bit of effort to start, but will fuel you with a lot of energy to keep going! We love you and know that your best days, in Him, are ahead!
