He is before all things, and in him all things hold together. Col 1:17 (NIV)
If you've ever scratched the surface of Quantum Physics you will've heard of a theory called ‘Quantum entanglement', where two entangled particles interact simultaneously with each other. If one particle changes direction, then the other will also do so simultaneously… regardless of time or space between them. It sounds like they are held together by something doesn't it?
One of the important discoveries out of the Large Hadron Collider, in Geneva, is the existence of the God-particle (aka Higgs boson) which is the key to answering many quandaries around why some particles have mass and some don't. Essentially it plays a part of the Higgs Field which is said to fill the universe, but is invisible to our eyes. Wow, imagine that! Something that fills the universe… we can't see it but it has an incredible effect on the way particles of matter (the stuff everything is made of) interact together!
When you think a judgemental thought about someone, remember we are all connected! The thoughts you have actually has bearing and impact on the subject, but recent studies show that it also has impact on the thinker too! Our directive thought towards things and people can actually change our own physicality, right down to DNA level, so it's important we understand the unseen impact of our thoughts and emotions. It's also important to note that what connects us is the God we love and serve. After all, He created all things and holds them together.
With these revelations in mind, you can understand why God wants us to “take captive every thought” and “be transformed by the renewing of our mind”. You and I are connected. You and your worst enemy are connected. When you find yourself thinking or speaking words of judgement over them, you're actually condemning yourself as much as them. Turn that judgement into prayer and make a positive change in all the things you are connected to… if you get into a consistent habit of doing this, it'll change your life completely! Have an amazing day…
