In his name the nations will put their hope. (Matthew 12:21 NIV)

Our hope is in Jesus. Not in our partners, not in our children, our friends, our bank accounts, our successes, our governments, our wits, our courage, our strength, our academics, our looks… Its in the name and person of Jesus. He is both personal and universal, intimate yet exposed to all, terrifying in wonder yet peace infusing, awe inspiring yet approachable, Saviour and closest of friends, confidant and teacher, grace filled and bringer of truth, merciful and just, healer and protector… Jesus. One of the things we must learn to do is to look beyond the headlines we use when we talk about Jesus, and delve into the detail. He is the Saviour of the universe (headline)… and He is the Saviour of my soul, the peace of my heart. He is King of all and reigns supreme (headline)… and was born in a manger to a young couple just starting out in life… humble and grand (detail). He is God, far above all we could imagine, hope and even understand. Yet He is Immanuel – God with us, our living hope. My Snr Ps Darlene Zschech always says “Hope is a person, and His name is Jesus.” If you need Hope today, call upon Jesus… the hope of all the world… your hope… xxoo
