For as the heavens are higher than the earth, so are My ways higher than your ways, and My thoughts than your thoughts. Isa 55:9 (NKJV)
There's no way that we'll ever understand God and His ways using human logic and reasoning. Our way is flawed and limited at best. Bridging the gap between our “low thinking” and God's “high thinking” can only be done with two ingredients. Faith and trust. Faith that He is and trust that He will. Faith that He is God, always was and will always be. Faith that He created the heavens and the earth and all that is within it.
Trust that all His promises do come to pass. Trust that He has it under control. The biggest by-product of sin is pride and pride is a huge hindrance to our relationship with God. Pride wants to always know what's going on and to always be in control. So trusting God means dropping your pride and letting go of control. It means acknowledging that God's ways and thoughts are higher and knowing that there is purpose in what you go through and hope on the other side of it.
Let's face it, if we're breathing we're prone to heartache and despair. You can try and “control” your way through life trying to avoid it, but you never will! Letting go and giving in to the attitude that “His ways are higher” will direct you more quickly through the circumstance and into the divine purpose it can create in you. God never promises we'll be free from strife but He does promise He will give us life in it!
Today allow your faith in Him to let you trust that His way is higher. When you do, the friction of life will dramatically decrease and the purpose will dramatically increase! It's gonna be an awesome day…allow it to be!
