So Abraham called the name of that place, “The Lord will provide”… Gen 22:14 (ESV)
These devotions are about encouraging you in the word of God with everyday, practical application. That being said I highly doubt that any of you would encounter a situation similar to Abraham where you’d have to sacrifice your son. Well I hope not anyway. I have no doubt that you will encounter situations and seasons where you have to ‘step out’ with no evidence of an assured outcome other than God’s word. But here lies the opportunity to allow God to stay true to His word and for your faith to grow.
Hebrews 11 says it’s “impossible to please God without faith” and that He’s a “rewarder of those that come to Him in faith”. Faith is a key element in walking out your life and relationship with Him. Much like a muscle, the more you exercise it, the stronger you make it and the easier it is to exercise! The Holy Spirit will whisper direction and you’ll respond with faith. You won’t need all the answers but only respond off knowing that He has your best interests at heart! When it comes to your friends, family, money, work, health, and witness, listen carefully for the voice of God today and respond in faith knowing that “The Lord will provide”.
