God guards you from every evil, he guards your very life. He guards you when you leave and when you return, he guards you now, he guards you always. Ps 121:8 (The Message)
God, the Father, is our divine guard. He goes before us and covers us from behind. He is our ever present help. He picked us up out of the miry clay and set our feet on solid rock. He is mighty to save; He is our strength and He guards our lives.
He guards us with His word. It is the ultimate defensive and offensive weapon. Full of wisdom, encouragement, comfort. When we live according to the word of God, empowered by the Holy Spirit, the word is filled with the eternal power of God and surrounds our hearts, minds, our every step. Yes, we still face trials, yes we still face temptation, yes we still face fears but our Guard is with us.
Often when we want to protect our hearts and lives, we build walls, we take matters into our own hands and try to be our own guard. I don't know about you, but that does not work for me at all. My perception is almost always flawed, clouded by my circumstances.
Sometimes I find it hard to see the big picture, and it becomes unclear what I should guard myself from. But find protection in Father God, the ultimate guard. His word will protect your heart in the midst of great tragedy, it will anchor your soul to hope in any situation, and it will encourage and empower you to live the life you were created for. We love you guys – your best days await!
