This is one of the most forgotten promises in the whole bible. At least, I find myself living like I’ve forgotten this promise a lot. And I know I'm not alone. I talk to people everyday – family, friends, colleagues, strangers, acquaintances – who, just like me, are filled with doubt, worry, fear, hopelessness, anger, hatred… and the list goes on. Confessing to believe in Jesus, but living ruled by the world, by things not of His Kingdom. It’s so easy to get jaded about the wonder, awe, power and majesty of Christ.
Life happens every day and hits us right between the eyes, and can often get our focus off Jesus and onto anything else but Him. Him. Him who was born of a virgin. Him who turned water into wine and calmed stormy seas. Him who straightened crooked arms and opened blind eyes. Him who forgave the unforgivable and gave strength to lifeless legs. Him who walked blameless the road to calvary and died a sinners death. Him who rose again, with healing in His wings, forgiveness on His breathe and grace in His embrace. Jesus Christ – the Son of the Living God. HE is greater than your fears, greater than your worries. Greater even than your sins and hopelessness. He is able to carry you above your tragedy and heartache and give you impossible peace, for in Him ALL things are possible.
We can overcome any obstacle, any sin, any temptation, any season, because He is great and mighty, and He lives within us empowering us – He is our overcoming strength. Job 9:10 says “He performs wonders that cannot be fathomed, miracles that cannot be counted.” When faced with yourself today and the things that may want to bring you down, remind these things and yourself that Jesus is Great and HE lives in you. YOU can and will overcome. Miracles and wonders live within you through Jesus Christ. Lets not forget it…
