Here, in Australia, preparations for Christmas are in full swing! The retailers have all their Christmas promotions at full steam ahead, all the neighbours are covering their houses in Christmas lights and most would have the Christmas tree up and decorated! It’s now that we start to go out and look for that ‘perfect gift’ that would bless the our loved ones and friends. I know I always want to buy a gift that “keeps on giving”, one that is useful far beyond the day it’s opened. I mean who wants a gift that will just sit on a shelf and gather dust anyway? Worse still is a useful gift that goes unused. Sometimes we can treat our faith (and our God) like this. Often we go about life CAREFULLY when we need to approach it PRAYERFULLY, using our own strength to work out and solve issues when at our disposal is the infinite mind of God. He wants you to access Him, ask Him and consult Him…it’s in His nature to desire interaction with you and to help you! Don’t allow the busy-ness of this life to distract you from the ultimate gift ‘that keeps on giving’…our ever loving Father! James 1:17 says “every good and perfect…comes from above”.
