“Great is our Lord, and mighty in power…” (Psalms 147:5)
God is mighty. In fact He is Almighty! Isaiah, the prophet, speaks of Him (amongst other names) as “Mighty God”! It's easy to let the word “mighty” roll off our tongues when speaking of God but the challenge lies in believing and expecting that He will do mighty things in your life! Sometimes I think we ask “might He?” rather than know that He is MIGHTY! I want to challenge you not have your ‘expectation-er' turned off when it comes to believing in God. Maybe your current situation looks ominous. Maybe even the experts are forecasting doom and gloom but don't, for a second, water down the “mightiness” of God to breakthrough in your life. Don't allow your faith in God's power to be challenged by authorities under His power. In Matt 8 a centurion comes to Jesus asking Him to heal his servant who is at home dying. The centurion essentially says to Jesus “don't bother coming…just command his healing…I understand the authority you have!” This centurion did not underestimate His mightiness in fact he had complete faith that Jesus would accomplish what He promised! There was no question of “might He?” but a full expectation that God was MIGHTY! Zeph 3:17 says “He is mighty to save…” Today, don't ask whether He can but expect that HE WILL!
