“I know what I'm doing. I have it all planned out—plans to take care of you, not abandon you, plans to give you the future you hope for.” – Jeremiah 29:11 MSG
I don't know about you but I have definitely asked God, on many occasions, if He knows what He's doing, when it comes to my life and His plan for it. With the chaos of life going on around me, at times it seems like there's no light at the end of the tunnel. It can feel hopeless and God-absent. It's not until I'm on the other end of those times that I realise He was there all along, protecting me, and guiding me. Working it all for good and ultimately His glory. I love how the Message starts off this famous verse “I know what I'm doing…” It's a promise you have to constantly remind yourself of in those challenging seasons. You have have to keep lifting your eyes off the circumstance, as all-consuming as it can be, and focus on the promise. He's there. He won't leave and He will use it to direct you onto His plans to give you a future and hope. What you're going through now is not where things will end…it's a promise! It's His promise! So today, whatever you face, instead of asking God if He knows what He's doing, ask Him what it is He wants to do in you. The Psalmist writes “Once I was young, and now I am old. Yet I have never seen the godly abandoned or their children begging for bread.” (Psalms 37:25). Today, trust that God knows what He's doing and has your situation all planned out…this is the peace that surpasses all understanding that Philippians 4 speaks of! Have the best day…we ???? you!
